Abstract
What are subjective perceptions of the Senior Employment Program? The goal of this research is to identify various patterns on the Senior Employment Program by using Q methodology which explores subjectivities of human beings. The researchers selected 47 Q samples among 478 Q populations from news articles, literatures and data through in-depth interviews, and the reliability was .779. Thirty people, who were general people, professionals and participants in the Senior Employment Program, sorted Q statements and the obtained data was analysed by the QUANL program. The perception patterns were divided into four types and the eigen value was .3873. Four types were different in perceptions on specific target, goal, definition, main problems of the Senior Employment Program, interventions to activate the program and perspectives on seniors and job for seniors. The perception patterns on the Senior employment program are following; a social participation program to get spending money which is similar to volunteering(type 1), a job program to secure income for the poor(type 2), a job program for the elderly in the open labour market(type 3) and workfare program for seniors who want to work(type 4). According to these results, the researchers offered some significant implications to activate the Senior Employment Program and suggested several following studies.
